My husband and I came together to design a site that would be an affordable alternative to Ebay for doll artists.  The niche was there to be filled and with his strong technical computer background of 15 years and my love of socializing with many doll artists, as well as being a new sculptor myself we started this project with every intention of making it a huge success.

Magnolia Lane: Premier Auction House and Doll Artist Community was born!!

Our Mission is to pave a wonderful little niche in the doll world where doll artists can come together, sell their art, promote their websites & galleries of work, gain friendships through the sharing of knowledge & comradery and lastly learn to become better artists through tutorials, workshops and media outlets. 

Our hope is that this site will become a one-stop 'home' of sorts for all doll artists where they have no need to go anywhere else.  However, my plan is to make the site so easily navigatible that they will in fact have more time to visit all the other places on the net they have cherished before.

Although my original focus was to help out doll artists, I eventually molded the idea (pun intended..LOL) to include other important people outside the sculpting and reborn community.  I decided that doll clothing artisans, doll dealers/companies and dollmaking supply vendors should be included within the Showcases as they have an extremely important place within the doll community.

I love the idea of efficiency.  A place that supplies all you need.....a place to sell, a place to socialize, a place to buy your supplies, a place to network and finally a place to learn new techniques.  After strong efficiency, I love the idea of having a strong community.  A community where we are all not self-serving, but actually support one another in our endeavors and through this all become better artists. 

Finally with a strong community we can come together in the form of a team and finally evolve into being able to do things through teamwork.  These aren't just buzz words I am writing down because they sound good.  I mean them and am hoping that we can move forward and make a difference in the doll world through our cooperative teamwork.  What I am proposing here will become more clear as the site grows.

My goal is to promote the doll artist in the best ways I know how.  Through advertising this site in many different venues, keeping the fees low so that sellers will want to list quality items which will also have the wonderful effect of drawing in the customers.  So I promise to maintain affordable fees, if you can promise to be patient as the site grows (it may take longer for your items to sell initially) and hang in here for the long haul because I do believe as a team we can do this and be free and clear of Ebay in the not so distant future.  It just means more money in everyone's pockets and a management that cares what you think.  Doesn't that sound good?

About Us

My husband and I are blessed with three wonderful children, ages 7, 6 and 3.  They are the love of our lives and keep us sane.  Ideally I hope that by designing a site like this we can teach them over the years how to run a home-grown business as isn't that what makes America so special??

In Conclusion

I am sincerely flattered that any of you have taken the time to read my About Us statement.  I thought a nice lengthy dissertation could put it in perspective where we have started with this and where we plan on going with it.  We certainly hope each and every one of you will come along for the ride.
